Website data usage

This website is intended to provide you with information about the services and happenings at Bermuda International Institute of Ophthalmology (BIIO). It does not have the purpose of collecting data from you.

Information provided to our office

Whenever you communicate to the office, such as by using the information at the Contact us page, the office may make a record of your identity and the nature of your communication in order to respond to your request. 

Section 34 of the Personal Information Protection Act 2016 requires the Bermuda International Institute of Ophthalmology to keep any information confidential, except as necessary to perform tasks like conducting an investigation, justifying the findings of a report, or providing examples of compliance with the Act. The office believes in only collecting, using, and disclosing the minimum amount of information necessary to perform its duties.

Public Access to Information

The Public Access to Information (PATI) Act 2010 gives the public a right to access public records that public authorities have.
